Welcome to the Website of St Michael and All Angels Church, Sandhurst, Berkshire
Welcome by Rev John Castle, Rector
St Michael’s is a community of people who worship God together, and who want to know God better and serve him better in our daily lives.
People come to our church for all sorts of reasons - at major life events such as marriage, christenings, bereavement, to find God and his purpose for their lives or to get involved in a local Christian community.
Whoever you are, we hope you'll find what you are looking for on this site, so we can help you practically, spiritually or however we can!

Bishop Alan Wilson, R.I.P.The death has been announced of Rt Rev Dr Alan Wilson, Bishop of Buckingham, who was Rector of this parish from 1992 to 2003. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday 13 April at 11.30am in All Saints, High Wycombe. Attendance at the service is fully booked but it will be live-streamed. More information is in Bishop Steven's letter, which you can download below.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Alan's wife Lucy and their five grown-up children.
Visiting the ChurchThe church is usually open for visiting and private prayer on weekdays and weekends (except during Sunday morning services), and you are welcome to light a candle as an act of prayer. This depends upon the availability of volunteers to open and lock it, but you can also phone or e-mail the office to arrange for the church to be open when you want to visit. (See contact page.)
Supporting UsAll are welcome to join in our services whether in the church or online.
We appreciate any financial contributions you would like to make. Please use the Donate button below to make a one-off donation or to sign up for regular giving, both of which are handled on our behalf by the Parish Giving Scheme. HighlightsA Winspire page updated for 2024 is here

The Imminence Of God
The following article by Rev Jane Kraft appears on the front page of the April 2024 Newsletter
There is something about spring which I find uplifting. Despite the grey skies and the huge amount of rain we have been experiencing recently, I have been particularly aware of the fantastic blossom, the incredible display of blooms on the magnolia trees, bright yellow of the forsythia and the banks of daffodils. Are they all looking much more magnificent this year or is it that I have been indoors much more and because I am not driving, at the moment, when I do go out, I am more aware of my surroundings. Sometimes we have so much going on in our lives and so many distractions, that we fail to notice the things around us.
What does God’s creation, both the stunningly beautiful and the ordinary everyday things teach us about God?
“Earth’s filled with heaven and every common bush ablaze with God, but only those who see take off their shoes.”
We sometimes talk about God being all powerful, all knowing, always present. We sing the hymn
“Immortal invisible God only wise, in light inaccessible hid from our eyes”.
David Adam says:
God is beyond space
God is beyond time
God is beyond matter
God is beyond words
God is beyond understanding
God is beyond our senses
and it is good to remember that he/she is all this.
Our God ‘dwells in unapproachable light.’ We call it the transcendence of God. And yet in his creation and in his Son Jesus Christ we can experience the imminence of God.
God is with us.
