Welcome to the Website of St Michael and All Angels Church, Sandhurst, Berkshire
Welcome by Rev John Castle, Rector
St Michael’s is a community of people who worship God together, and who want to know God better and serve him better in our daily lives.
People come to our church for all sorts of reasons - at major life events such as marriage, christenings, bereavement, to find God and his purpose for their lives or to get involved in a local Christian community.
Whoever you are, we hope you'll find what you are looking for on this site, so we can help you practically, spiritually or however we can!

Stewardship Sunday, 16 June 2024
When we recognise all the blessings that God has given us, what should be our attitude towards the things we own, the talents, skills, money and time we have? What part do you play in your church? Please read the leaflet below, and consider your response to God. Although Stewardship Sunday has now passed, offers as in the leaflet are still very welcome.
Visiting the ChurchThe church is usually open for visiting and private prayer on weekdays and weekends (except during Sunday morning services), and you are welcome to light a candle as an act of prayer. This depends upon the availability of volunteers to open and lock it, but you can also phone or e-mail the office to arrange for the church to be open when you want to visit. (See contact page.)
Supporting UsAll are welcome to join in our services whether in the church or online.
We appreciate any financial contributions you would like to make. Please use the Donate button below to make a one-off donation or to sign up for regular giving, both of which are handled on our behalf by the Parish Giving Scheme. Please see also our Stewardship leaflet as below.

Rest and Relaxation...
The following article by our Family Worker Sarah Bishop appears on the front page of the July 2024 Newsletter
Having recently had a holiday, I have been pondering on the importance of rest and relaxation.
In today’s fast-paced world, the art of relaxation can often feel like a distant dream. The pressures of work, family responsibilities, and the constant buzz of technology can leave us feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Yet, amidst this chaos, finding moments of peace and relaxation is not only beneficial but essential for our well-being.
The Bible offers timeless wisdom on the importance of rest and relaxation. In Matthew 11:28, Jesus invites us to find solace in Him:
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
This passage reminds us that true rest comes from releasing our burdens and trusting in God’s care.
These moments do not have to be weeks of holiday, but simply a few minutes to pause and reflect. Set aside time each day to do what relaxes you. This could be sitting listening to music or going for a peaceful walk in the countryside; practicing mindfulness or reading scripture.
Relaxation is more than just a luxury; it is a necessity for a healthy, balanced life and brings many benefits. These include improved mental health, increased productivity and better relationships.
Remember, even God himself took time to rest. Relaxation is a gift from God, a time to refresh and restore our minds, bodies, and spirits. As you navigate the demands of daily life, let the words of Psalm 46:10 guide you:
Be still, and know that I am God
Embrace these moments of stillness and allow His peace to wash over you.
