History - Pastoral Centre

The Bishop of Oxford, the Rt Revd Richard Harries, dedicated a stone in the partially completed building on 30th October 1988 and the formal opening of the new Pastoral Centre, on 18th May 1989 was carried out by HRH The Princess Royal, after a service in the parish church.

The new facilities including, for the first time a parish office, were soon in full use by the church and related organisations. The main hall is called the Seeby Hall, after Miss Violet Seeby who gave a donation of cash to provide an impetus for the fundraising for the building project.

Later, the upper room project was started which comprises two meeting rooms (one large and one small), a kitchenette and toilet.
