Supporting Us
If you would like to donate to a particular fund, e.g. the Spire Project, or would like to learn about making a regular monthly contribution, please visit our Donations page.
The Spire Project
Our beautiful church building needs repair - the wooden tiles (shingles) on the spire, the peal of six bells and the clock all need attention, the total cost of which is around £250,000. For more information, and how you can donate to this appeal, please visit our WinSpire 2024 page. Stewardship campaign 2024
When we recognise all the blessings that God has given us, what should be our attitude towards the things we own, the talents, skills, money and time we have? What part do you play in your church? Please read the leaflet below, and consider your response to God. Although Stewardship Sunday has now passed, offers as in the leaflet are still very welcome.
Visiting the ChurchThe church is usually open for visiting and private prayer on weekdays and weekends (except during Sunday morning services), and you are welcome to light a candle as an act of prayer. This depends upon the availability of volunteers to open and lock it, but you can also phone or e-mail the office to arrange for the church to be open when you want to visit. (See contact page.)

2025 - A Year Of Promise?
The following article by Rev John Castle appears on the front page of the January 2025 Newsletter
How does the year ahead look to you? What plans do you have? The world may seem as uncertain a place as ever, but the message of Christmas and Epiphany is “God is with us” (Hebrew Emmanuel). So let’s put our hand into the hand of God and step forward boldly, trusting him to lead us.
One of my favourite verses is Jeremiah 29:11. It was given to me while I was in hospital aged 18 after a road traffic accident:
For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Are we willing to believe that God might have plans for us this year? The pattern we see in the Bible and in my experience is that this is two-sided: we need to do our bit and God will do his. It may mean acting on an intuition, a thought while praying, a sign in the world around us, or a communication through other people. If it seems to be in accordance with God’s will, do it.
This could involve doing something God has been trying to get through to you about already, but you’ve been too fearful or too lazy, or too self-centred. God wants us to trust him, but also to obey. Are we willing to put him first in 2025?
Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to trust and obey. (John Henry Sammis, HON 553)
