The Bible Course
This 8-week course from the Bible Society is a great introduction, that will help you grasp the big story of the Bible and make sense of how it all fits together. We'll be running it on Zoom and in person on Tuesdays at 8pm from 13th January. Sign up now to register an interest, by e-mailing Rev John Castle, [email protected]
If you would like to donate to a particular fund, e.g. the Spire Project, or would like to learn about making a regular monthly contribution, please visit our Donations page.
The Spire Project
Our beautiful church building needs repair. The six bells are currently away being repaired, the wooden tiles (shingles) on the spire are being replaced, and the clock needs refurbishment of the face, and major repair of the mechanism if it is to tell the time again. An update on the clock can be found on page 8 of the September 2025 newsletter. The total cost of the whole Spire Project is around £250,000, and only a small proportion of this has yet been received in grants. We are hoping that local people and business will be willing to make some significant donations to enable our Spire, bells and clock to be returned to their former glory. For more information, and how you can donate to this appeal, please visit our WinSpire 2024 page. See also the article on Page 6 of the March 2026 Newsletter.
Visiting the ChurchThe church is usually open for visiting and private prayer on weekdays and weekends (except during Sunday morning services), and you are welcome to light a candle as an act of prayer. This depends upon the availability of volunteers to open and lock it, but you can also phone or e-mail the office to arrange for the church to be open when you want to visit. (See contact page.)

Daffodils
The following article by Emma Hodge appears on the front page of the March 2026 Newsletter.
March brings an abundance of spring bulbs and one of my favourites is the Daffodil. On grey days their bright yellow flowers are a welcome reminder of sunshine. Yet when they are not flowering, the bulb is not dormant, beneath the soil it is being nourished, growing roots, and sometimes dividing to form new bulbs. Despite what is happening around them, daffodils continue to grow and survive.
Our lives have similar seasons. There are times when we need nurturing, space to re-group, opportunities to reassess our priorities. This may be prompted by redundancy, ill health or bereavement, or it may be just because we haven’t reviewed our lives for a while.
When we do review our lives, will we ask God what his priorities are for us and how we might grow and develop? Is our relationship with God in need of strengthening? March falls in Lent, making it a good time to stop, review and renew our relationship with God. We can do this in prayer, bible study, or by reading or watching a Christian book or film.
