The Spire Project
Our beautiful church building needs repair - the wooden tiles (shingles) on the spire, the peal of six bells and the clock all need attention, the total cost of which is around £250,000. For more information, and how you can donate to this appeal, please visit our WinSpire 2024 page. ![]() Exploring the Christian faith with the Start Course from 28th April 2025
What's life all about? Who is God? Can God be real to me? This is a short 6-week introduction to the Christian faith which is run in a small group. For more information, visit our Exploring Faith page. Visiting the ChurchThe church is usually open for visiting and private prayer on weekdays and weekends (except during Sunday morning services), and you are welcome to light a candle as an act of prayer. This depends upon the availability of volunteers to open and lock it, but you can also phone or e-mail the office to arrange for the church to be open when you want to visit. (See contact page.)

After The Bunny Has Gone . . . .
The following article by Rev John Castle appears on the front page of the May 2025 Newsletter
Easter eggs and bunnies may have gone from the supermarket shelves, but Easter is still here! The church season of Easter runs until Ascension Day (29 May) and Pentecost (8 June).
Easter is about new life and resurrection power. So in the New Testament readings for this season we read of extraordinary things taking place in the early church through the power of the Holy Spirit, as the apostles proclaimed the death and resurrection of Jesus.
Easter is not just an ancient story – it is a present reality. Why the first Christians, who were all Jews, start worshipping on Sundays instead of the Jewish Sabbath (Saturday)? It was to celebrate the resurrection on the day of the week when it happened.
This Eastertide, let’s all pray for God to breathe new life and power into each of us, and into our church and the church throughout the world.
The world needs to hear the Easter message, and we are Jesus’ witnesses. So come to church and be reminded, re-filled, inspired and equipped, and go out believing that God can do great things through you – not because we have anything to boast of ourselves, but because, as St Paul wrote:
‘the Spirit of him who raised Christ from the dead lives in you’ (Romans 8:11)
Alleluia!
