Welcome to the Website of St Michael and All Angels Church, Sandhurst, Berkshire
Welcome by Rev John Castle, Rector
St Michael’s is a community of people who worship God together, and who want to know God better and serve him better in our daily lives.
People come to our church for all sorts of reasons - at major life events such as marriage, christenings, bereavement, to find God and his purpose for their lives or to get involved in a local Christian community.
Whoever you are, we hope you'll find what you are looking for on this site, so we can help you practically, spiritually or however we can!

Ann's family have asked for any donations in memory of Ann to be made to St Michael's Church. To doate online - please click or tap here. Thank you! Stewardship campaign 2024
When we recognise all the blessings that God has given us, what should be our attitude towards the things we own, the talents, skills, money and time we have? What part do you play in your church? Please read the leaflet below, and consider your response to God. Although Stewardship Sunday has now passed, offers as in the leaflet are still very welcome.
Visiting the ChurchThe church is usually open for visiting and private prayer on weekdays and weekends (except during Sunday morning services), and you are welcome to light a candle as an act of prayer. This depends upon the availability of volunteers to open and lock it, but you can also phone or e-mail the office to arrange for the church to be open when you want to visit. (See contact page.)

What Does the Bible Mean to You?
The following article by Emma Hodge appears on the front page of the September 2024 Newsletter
On 15th September, as well as being part of the Heritage weekend, it is Bible Sunday, the Sunday in the year when children who have just started Year 3 (7 years old) receive a copy of the Bible (Good News Translation), It is not a book of Bible stories for children but the whole Bible, through which they can explore the stories they know, discover new stories, discover the poetry, the history and wisdom that the Bible contains. While this may seem to be just for the children and their families who will receive a Bible, it provides us, as a church and as individuals, the opportunity to stop and reflect on the Bible and the role it has in our lives.
The Bible is a book which has had changing roles in our family lives (does your family have a family Bible?) and in society over time. The Bible is a book that has, and continues to, spark debates and discussion, and sadly people have taken portions of the Bible and often used them out of context to justify actions which hurt others. However, the Bible also contains words of joy, wisdom and comfort. The role the Bible has in our lives and how we use it is linked to what the Bible means to us, will be different for each of us, and there is no right answer, but the sentiment in the poem below sums it up for me
Precious Holy Bible
by Alfred P. Gibbs (1890-1967)
Precious holy Bible, treasure rich and rare,
Word of God eternal, balm for every care;
God’s full revelation, of the sin of man,
And of Christ’s redemption,
and salvation’s plan.
Word that life bestoweth,
food the soul to stay,
Armour that protecteth, counsel for each day;
Promises abundant, lamp of truth to lead,
Always all-sufficient for each time of need!
May we read these Scriptures,
and their truths believe,
Own our need as sinners,
and God’s Son receive;
In assurance resting, His commands obey,
And in His grace growing,
live for Him each day!
