Supporting Us
If you would like to donate to a particular fund, e.g. the Spire Project, or would like to learn about making a regular monthly contribution, please visit our Donations page.
The Spire Project
Our beautiful church building needs repair - the wooden tiles (shingles) on the spire, the peal of six bells and the clock all need attention, the total cost of which is around £250,000. For more information, and how you can donate to this appeal, please visit our WinSpire 2024 page. Visiting the ChurchThe church is usually open for visiting and private prayer on weekdays and weekends (except during Sunday morning services), and you are welcome to light a candle as an act of prayer. This depends upon the availability of volunteers to open and lock it, but you can also phone or e-mail the office to arrange for the church to be open when you want to visit. (See contact page.)

How We Show Our Gratitude to God
The following article by Catherine Wilkins (Stewardship Officer) appears on the front page of the July 2025 Newsletter
I have found the recent removal of our bells for restoration to be interesting both in terms of the bells themselves and also the history behind them.
It is traditional for church bells to carry inscriptions, and four of ours have inscriptions in memory of Rev Henry Parsons (Rector 1850-1878) and his family and were "given by his parishioners, relations and friends as a testimony of their gratitude and affection" as recorded over the door to the south aisle.
The word that jumped out at me in that inscription is ‘gratitude’. The donors were grateful to God for the life and ministry of a man who had done so much for his parish, and that gratitude was seen as important enough to be recorded alongside their affection for him back in 1880.
Fast forward 145 years, and I wonder how we show our gratitude to God in our giving of time, talents and finances today? Do we give willingly, prayerfully, and happily, in the knowledge that ‘all things come from you, and of your own do we give you’?
Following on from Stewardship Sunday last month, I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has already contacted John or me in response to the Stewardship leaflet and the letters that were sent out. If your Stewardship leaflet is still languishing in a ‘to do' pile, perhaps it is time to move it to your ‘things to pray about’ pile, and eventually into your ‘actioned’ folder.
